Sample Receipt Officer

Overview
Envirolab Group is the largest Australian owned and privately operating environmental laboratory in Australia.  Our laboratories provide a broad range of testing services in environmental chemistry, microbiology, asbestos, workplace exposure and air monitoring.  We service Environmental Consultants, Mines, Occupational Hygienists, Government Departments and the general public by providing quality service and independent results.

The Role
The Envirolab Group is seeking a Sample Receipt Officer to join our Sydney team covering the afternoon shift (11am to 7pm) Monday to Friday.   The purpose of this role is to build and maintain strong client relationships through exceeding expectations and delivering quality results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • General customer enquiries, this includes recommendations on what tests are required, cost, invoice, required deadline
  • Accurately log in samples & generate worksheets in LIMS
  • Ensure appropriate sample container management
  • Update LIMS - setup tables and contact database (ACT)
  • Liaise with lab
  • Complete all Quality Control records in accordance with the Quality System
  • Address complaints and escalate appropriately

Laboratory Technician

Overview
Envirolab Group, comprising of Envirolab Services, MPL Laboratories and LABTEC Auckland provides a broad range of laboratory testing services such as environmental chemistry, microbiology, asbestos, workplace exposure and air monitoring and product formulation and agrichemicals.

We are a NATA accredited laboratory group and we service Environmental Consultants, Mines, Occupational Hygienists, Government Departments, industry and the general public by providing great service and quality. Further information can be found at www.envirolab.com.au

We are seeking a laboratory technician to join our team in our new state of the art laboratory in Croydon South. We’re looking for a self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail. 

Your ability to work under pressure, adhere to quality standards and deadlines is essential. Training is provided so graduates are encouraged to apply.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Sample extraction and preparation
  • General laboratory work
  • Stocktake of consumables and chemicals
  • Safety and housekeeping
  • Continuous Improvement

 

The best suited candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications (in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry preferred) or TAFE (Chemistry/Lab Techniques)
  • Knowledge of laboratory QA/QC
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work shifts.

 

The role will initially be casual leading to a permanent position. Shifts will start as 9am-5pm for training moving to a more permanent 7am-3pm shift.
