Sample Receipt Officer

Overview
Envirolab Group is the largest Australian owned and privately operating environmental laboratory in Australia.  Our laboratories provide a broad range of testing services in environmental chemistry, microbiology, asbestos, workplace exposure and air monitoring.  We service Environmental Consultants, Mines, Occupational Hygienists, Government Departments and the general public by providing quality service and independent results.

The Role
The Envirolab Group is seeking a Sample Receipt Officer to join our Sydney team covering the afternoon shift (11am to 7pm) Monday to Friday.   The purpose of this role is to build and maintain strong client relationships through exceeding expectations and delivering quality results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • General customer enquiries, this includes recommendations on what tests are required, cost, invoice, required deadline
  • Accurately log in samples & generate worksheets in LIMS
  • Ensure appropriate sample container management
  • Update LIMS - setup tables and contact database (ACT)
  • Liaise with lab
  • Complete all Quality Control records in accordance with the Quality System
  • Address complaints and escalate appropriately

Asbestos Analyst

Envirolab Group is the largest Australian owned and privately operating environmental laboratory in Australia.  Our laboratories provide a broad range of testing services in environmental chemistry, microbiology, asbestos, workplace exposure and air monitoring.  We service Environmental Consultants, Mining Company, Occupational Hygienists, Government Departments and the general public by providing quality service and independent results.

The Envirolab Group currently have an opportunity for a full-time Asbestos Analyst with a minimum 2 years’ experience to join our growing team.  Working in a NATA accredited laboratory, you will have exceptional attention to detail and be a self-starter. The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and an adherence to quality standards and deadlines is essential. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Sample preparation
  • Asbestos Identification
  • Fibre counting
  • Reporting
  • Laboratory Operations
  • Safety and housekeeping
  • Continuous Improvement

 

The best suited candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications (in Science & or Lab)
  • Previous NATA Signatory preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with PCM and PLM
  • Knowledge of AS4964-2004, NOHSC 3003-2005, NOHSC 3006-1989 and NEPM Guidelines
  • Proven ability to report on findings
  • Ability to calibrate sampling equipment

Analytical Chemist - Environmental Laboratory

Overview
Envirolab Group, which is comprised of Envirolab Services, MPL Laboratories and LABTEC in Auckland, New Zealand provides a broad range of laboratory testing services, such as environmental chemistry, microbiology, asbestos, workplace exposure and air monitoring and product formulation and agrichemicals.

The Role
We are seeking an applicant who is a self starter, is able to work in a fast-paced environment and has exceptional attention to detail. Your ability to work under pressure, adhere to quality standards and deadlines is essential. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sample and standard preparation

  • Operate ICP-OES, ICP-MS and Hg Analyser

  • Process data and reporting using LIMS system

  • Safety and housekeeping

  • Continuous Improvement

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications (in Chemistry)

  • Experience as a Metals Chemist

  • Knowledge of laboratory QA/QC

  • Knowledge of NATA Accredited test methods

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Agilent ICP-MS, ICP-OES, Cetac Hg Analyser
