The Envirolab Group is the largest Australian owned and privately operating environmental laboratory in Australia. Our laboratories, Envirolab Services, MPL Laboratories and LABTEC provide a broad range of testing services in environmental chemistry, microbiology, asbestos, workplace exposure and air monitoring. We service Environmental Consultants, Mining Companies, Occupational Hygienists, Government Departments and the general public by providing quality service and independent results.
Your new role
Our Sydney Laboratory has an opportunity for a full-time Senior Analytical Chemist in our Metals Department with a minimum 5 years' experience. Working in a NATA accredited laboratory you will have exceptional attention to detail and be a self-starter. Working in a fast-paced environment, the ability to work under pressure, adhere to quality standards and deadlines is essential.
As a Senior Chemist, you will be responsible for non-routine testing, mentoring and training of staff, trouble-shooting and maintenance, checking and approving results. This includes developing new methodologies and optimising processes to increase the current sample load through the lab. This role is the deputy for the Supervisor when required. The role back fills as required to ensure results are issued on time.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in instrumental techniques such as ICP, ICPMS and CVAAS is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry major), great organisational skills, able to work in a team environment, excellent attention to detail, initiative and great interpersonal skills.
