A further extension to MPL Laboratories' NATA Accreditation has been granted in March. The laboratory is now accredited to analyse Acrylamide in soils using LC-MSMS, which provides in-house capability to clients operating in solid waste management arising from mining activities, sewerage treatment, and other industrial processes.

MPL Laboratories, is now NATA accredited for Carbon and Sulphur analyses in Sediments, Sludges, Soils, and Ores using the LECO solid analyser. This test-flow provides an in-house capability for Sulphur analysis as part of Acid Mine Drainage workflows.

The need to detect the presence of acrylamide in water is an increasing concern from an environmental and health standpoint. Highly soluble and mobile in water, acrylamide is an unsaturated amide and the main monomer of polyacrylamide used in the treatment of drinking water as well as municipal or industrial effluents.
