As Technical Manager of Envirolab Group, Giovanni leads and coordinates the development of new analysis and new analytical techniques across the Group's operations in Australia and New Zealand for air quality testing, illicit drug analysis and emerging contaminants.
Originally from Italy, Giovanni joined Envirolab Services, a subsidiary of Envirolab Group in October 2005 as a Senior Inorganic Chemist, before he was promoted, in August 2007, to his current role of Technical Manager for the Group's operations.
Appointed as an Analyst under NSW DECC legislation, Giovanni has, since 2004, been a NATA Technical Assessor in the field of Chemical Testing for inorganics (metals and waters) and a Technical Expert for IANZ (International Accreditation New Zealand), since 2010. A member of the Australian Standard Technical Committee for ICP-MS, Giovanni has, since 2019, been part of the Australasian Land & Groundwater Association (ALGA) Methamphetamine and Other Illicit Drugs Interest Group Committee.
Giovanni has qualifications in Environmental Science from CTF Fonte and is a native Italian speaker.
Outside the lab, Giovanni enjoys spending time with his family and "football," the real name of soccer! A man of the world, he is always eager to jet off to explore new cities and enjoys anything food related.
