COVID Update: Changes to MPL Laboratories Perth Operations

Sunday, 31 January, 2021

Authorities in Western Australia (WA) have announced a snap five-day lockdown in the Perth metropolitan area, as well as Peel and South West regions. The lockdown effective at 6:00pm (AWST), Sunday January 31 until 6:00pm Friday, 5 February 2021 follows the detection of a new coronavirus disease (COVID) case. Residents will be allowed to leave home only to perform essential activities, including accessing healthcare and shopping for essentials. Schools, restaurants, bars, cinemas and gyms have been ordered to close.

The WA Government has instructed that masks are to be worn at all times when people are outside their place of residence, including while on public transport and at workplaces.

Our priority remains focused on ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, clients and community. To comply with the WA Government’s guidelines, the following measures will apply during the snap lockdown:

  • The wearing of a mask will be mandatory in the workplace as our team assists incoming sample testing requirements and answering client queries, particularly for our clients operating in essential services;
  • Work-from-home (WFH) arrangements will apply for some team members who are able to complete their role remotely of the lab; and
  • Door signage is in place to assist with protective measures. Please adhere to the directions and guidance provided.
