Australia is now transitioning to the Workplace exposure limits for airborne contaminants (WEL list). Until 1 December 2026, persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs) must still comply with the WES list.

Envirolab Sydney has proudly supported an innovative PFAS reduction study in partnership with the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (SAMFS). This study investigated whether a combination of cholestyramine (a cholesterol-lowering drug) and plasma donation could help lower PFAS levels in firefighters' blood. The results showed significant reductions in PFOS and PFHxS concentrations, offering promising insight into potential treatment pathways.

Envirolab Services Melbourne has obtained NATA Accreditation for analysing Reactive Silica(SiO₂) in water matrices using the Discrete Analyser. This newly accredited capability provides in-house expertise for precise and dependable results, especially for our clients in industrial water treatment.

A further extension in NATA Accreditation has been granted to Envirolab Services Sydney. The laboratory's accreditation has been extended for the analysis of Carbon, Nitrogen and Sulfur in solid matrices, using the High Temperature Combustion Analyser.
