Supporting Firefighter Health: Envirolab Contributes to PFAS Study

Envirolab Sydney has proudly supported an innovative PFAS reduction study in partnership with the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (SAMFS). This study investigated whether a combination of cholestyramine (a cholesterol-lowering drug) and plasma donation could help lower PFAS levels in firefighters' blood. The results showed significant reductions in PFOS and PFHxS concentrations, offering promising insight into potential treatment pathways.
