Envirolab Services Sydney is pleased to announce that team member, Dr. Chris Guo, has been awarded the status of Certified Air Quality Professional (CAQP) by Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ).
Chris will be formally recognised for his achievement at an upcoming CASANZ event, to be held Friday, 15 November 2019. The presentation will be attended by esteemed industry representative and Technical Manager of our Group’s operations, Giovanni Agosti, who is instrumental in the development of new analysis techniques across the Group's operations in Australia and New Zealand for air quality testing, illicit drug analysis and emerging contaminants.
"As leaders in air and soil gas testing, we are proud to recognise and celebrate Chris' achievement," Giovanni said.
"Chris' recognition as a CAQP by CASANZ highlights Envirolab's focus on employee growth and development. In doing so, we are in tune with the latest industry trends and practices in environmental contamination testing, and ultimately providing our clients with the highest level of service, quality and reliable results," added Giovanni.
"Becoming a CAQP allows me to extend and differentiate my expertise and specialised knowledge as a senior scientist because I am better equipped to lead my team and ensure that our methods and capabilities meet the requirements for the air quality industry," Chris said.
Having obtained his PhD in Science at the University of Sydney (2005), Chris joined our Sydney laboratory in 2010. Currently in the role of Air Technical Specialist, Chris leads the Air Toxic Team, and has been recently involved in projects including the testing of indoor pollutants and occupational health in the built environment that impact human health and wellbeing, through air and water quality precondition requirements – the WELL Building Standard™.
Recognition as a CAQP
The attainment of a CAQP title is for members of CASANZ, in recognition of the holder’s expertise, accomplishments and commitment to excellence in maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity and ethical conduct, and keeping abreast of technological developments within the air quality industry. The status also recognises that the holder of CAQP title continuously develops their knowledge within the air quality industry in Australia and New Zealand.
A non-profit, professional association, CASANZ has for over 50 years promoted professional excellence, continuous awareness and education of national and world issues related to air quality and climate change.
