Envirolab Services Melbourne Gains NATA Accreditation for EDTA and NTA in Soil and Water Matrices

Envirolab Group is proud to announce that Envirolab Services Melbourne, has achieved NATA Accreditation for EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) and NTA (Nitrilotriacetic acid), effective Thursday, 22 October 2020. The news of successful accreditation means that Envirolab Services Melbourne is the second laboratory within Australia and the first laboratory in Melbourne with certification with the nationally recognised testing body, NATA, for soils.  


Despite the ongoing COVID lockdown challenges being faced in Melbourne, the team has powered through after many months of rigorous audits and assessments. The company takes this opportunity to extend a special thanks to our team involved, including Group Organics Manager, David Williams, Chris Holden, and the team in Melbourne for assisting in the achievement of this recognition. We also thank our clients for your patience throughout this process.      


Group Commercial Manager, David Springer said, "This accreditation is great news for our Melbourne lab's environmental contamination testing services capabilities and especially helpful for IWRG631 and the new waste disposal categories in Victoria."

This achievement accompanies Envirolab Services Melbourne's recent extension of NATA Accreditation to cyanide analysis, COD/TKN and various TOC/TC (August) and for PFAS compounds by LC-MS-MS (July)

NATA Accreditation provides independent assurance of technical competence through a proven network of best practice industry experts. This accreditation is highly regarded as it formally recognises facilities across a range of industries that provide excellent standards of service in reliability, safety and efficiency in technical services.


The accreditation is granted to laboratories in compliance with the international standard, ISO/IEC 17025 (2017) and the service-specific criteria, which is determined via an on-site assessment of resources, procedures and documentation. As part of gaining accreditation, Envirolab Services Melbourne was required to demonstrate that it can competently perform all activities included within the concerned class or field of accreditation.
