Envirolab Will Squat in March to Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Research

Did you know that 55 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day? To improve breast cancer survival rates for those living with breast cancer, continued research is key. The mission of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is to stop deaths from breast cancer by identifying, funding and championing world-class research that will help detect tumours earlier, improve treatment outcomes, and ultimately save lives.

In support of the NBCF’s goal of "Zero Deaths from breast cancer by 2030," an Envirolab team has been formed, consisting of team members from across the organisation. 2021 is the first year that Envirolab takes part in the cause. The team will complete 55 squats for 31 days this March and raise funds for breast cancer research.

The challenges of the COVID lockdown and tighter restrictions in Australian states and territories have not stopped our team across our network of offices and laboratories to virtually get together to support and raise much needed funds for such an important cause.

How you can help

Whether you support our Envirolab team, get your own team together or donate directly, every dollar raised will make an impact.

Cancer is a disease that affects us all either directly or indirectly. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare estimated the diagnosis of 150,000 new cases of cancer and just under 50,000 deaths from cancer in 2020. While the world focuses on curing COVID, it’s important to remember that the challenges we faced before the emergence of the global pandemic will continue to remain. Cancer still poses a deadly threat to so many. That's why supporting lifesaving research remains important.

About the 55 Squat Challenge

55 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day in Australia. An aging population, health and lifestyle factors and better detection have all contributed to an increase in breast cancer diagnoses rates.

That is why your help is needed now more than ever to fund crucial breast cancer research so that we can change the stats. We challenge you to complete 55 squats for 31 days this March and raise funds for breast cancer research. Breast cancer doesn't stop, and neither can we. Are you ready to squat for breast cancer research?
